8.5 X 13 Legal Size

I often meet my colleagues in our office who keep asking me for help when they try to use this legal paper format in Microsoft Office. Explaining this subject to them again and again is a tedious job; So I have to find a solution. Again, after many visits to my printer settings, I have finally found the right solution and I hope this tip will also help those who have a problem with 8.5 x 13 inch paper and the MS Office or US LEGAL size. Before printing anything, first click on the printer properties, then on Document Size, there are a lot of paper sizes, then click on the custom, enter the size you want, 8.5 x 13, then click OK, and then print it. Step 2: Create your paper style. Under Print Server Properties, go to the Form tab, select the Create New Form area, which enables some of the fields required for the new template specifications. Since here we are creating a paper size in the form of a folio or German legal Fanfold, change the field values for width and height to width = 8.50 inches and height = 13.00 inches. In the Form Name field, you can create a name for your paper size, and since I live in the Philippines, I would like to use the brand name of our paper paper, which I prefer to call Legal Paper. Just click the Apply and OK buttons. Hello. Sir, can you help me? I have the same problem as Hunter.

I use Canon MG 3620 and it does not display the legal size in the paper size options. I`ve already done what you posted at the top of this page, but it still didn`t appear a custom paper size additional to the options. It`s for Windows 10. Our main goal here is to create a custom folio paper style. After a few steps, you will be able to see this template in your Microsoft Office programs, and if my guess is correct, other programs that require printer properties will also get the same result. To be more specific, please read my subtitle regarding my specifications. In addition, my printer is a shared printer in our office network. Additional paper grades are also available in paper sizes, as shown in these product cross-reference tables for the 8.5″ x 14″ paper size.

The following product tables for inkjet and laser printers are listed: For inkjet printers. Step 3: Check your new paper size. Finally, open your Microsoft Office Word. Go to the Page Setup tab; Click the Size icon to expand the list of different paper sizes and find the newly defined paper size at the very bottom of the list. If you can see your paper size, you have created it successfully. As you will notice, this new paper size is also available for your default printer settings. A few years ago, I found a small problem when printing a document in a legal paper size because, for example, in Microsoft Office (all versions) I can choose the legal paper size if I need a long-bound paper, but using this paper size does not match our local version of the long paper size. In the United States and or other similar countries, the legal paper size is defined as 8.5 x 14 inches, but in my country, the Philippines, we are moving towards paper suppliers that the legal size is 8.5 x 13 inches. According to my research, the 8.5 x 13 inches is called folio paper size or German Legal Fanfold; Therefore, the legal paper format and the folio format are two different formats. I can see the German legal Fanfold in my print server properties, which has the same dimension of 8.5 x 13 inches, but I have no idea why it is not visible to Microsoft Office. Terminology: 8 1/2 “x 14” paper is also referred to as legal or “legal” size paper.

It is a standardized paper format (measurement system in English) in the United States and other countries that still rely on English-language paper sizes. The dimensions of the paper in the legal format are 8.5 inches by 14 inches. Fortunately, there are printers like Epson that allow you to set your own paper size and save it as a model. However, Canon printers, perhaps not all Canon printers, are user-friendly if you need a custom paper size, as you still need to change the printer option to have a custom size. I spent hours looking for a possible option to create a paper-style sheet, but the Canon printer option has nothing to offer me. Thank you for the great help. God bless you. 😊 Thank you for this help.

I had been looking for him for a very long time. Choose the paper you need from 64 possible from the floating menu: I`m really sorry, Hunter! I didn`t notice your comment, I`ve been busy for several months. Please let me know if you have already fixed everything. Works perfectly in Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and Canon IP 2770 printers Step 1: Find print server properties. Go to the Start menu and search for devices and printers on the right. When you go to Devices and Printers, click your default printer installed on your system. After you select a printer driver, the three or more additional options appear at the top of the Devices and Printers window and appear below the address bar. In short, you can see the print server properties when your printer driver is selected. Click the print server properties to view the appropriate settings.

I did what you said, but unfortunately Microsoft Word and Excel still cannot recognize the saved template. Note: For HP and Epson, this trick may not work 100% because each printer has a different configuration. Maybe I will update this post in the near future. Either way, I hope you find this helpful.
