Washington State`s Initiative No. 1639 “Public Safety and Semi-Automatic Assault Rifles Act” (“I-1639”) was put to a public vote in November 2018. I-1639 changes the legal procedures regarding the purchase of firearms, particularly semi-automatic rifles, in Washington State by requiring potential buyers to undergo mandatory training before purchasing a semi-automatic rifle. This course is specifically designed to meet I-1639 training requirements.
Yes. The Washington Initiative 1639 and the Wash. Rev. Code Ann. §9.41.090 set out the requirements for what is to be taught in the 1639 course and who is to teach the course. This course is specifically designed by a nationally recognized firearms attorney and a former Washington State Attorney (under Rule 9) to meet all training requirements required by law. The law does not dictate how training should be delivered (either in person or online), which is why Legal Heat has developed courses for both formats. As of November 9, 2018, our attorneys have been in contact with the Washington Licensing Department regarding our I-1639 face-to-face and online training. We are so confident in our training that we have asked for formal review and approval, but unfortunately, the Department of Licensing does not offer this service. However, they did not object to our online or face-to-face courses.
Last year, thousands of students completed this 1639 online course, using it to buy semi-automatic rifles in Washington. “Thank you for creating the app and keeping it up to date. After spending the last three years full-time on the road touring the U.S. twice, I`ve relied on LegalHeat to keep me up to date with each state`s unique and changing gun restrictions. Please keep up the good work! Archie R. I-1639 states that safety training must be provided by a recognized organization that “ordinarily provides firearms training” and must be completed every five years to be eligible for purchase. The training should consist of lessons on at least six compulsory subjects: you dread the day when you might be forced to defend yourself, but with a license obtained by Legal Heat, you are more than ready to take it. This course is organized in partnership with our partner store Sportsman`s Warehouse in Vancouver, WA.

If you take the necessary steps to get a secret gun license, you`ll already be better equipped to fend off violent criminals than 57% of handgun owners in the country. Better situational awareness means you`re ready for anything. The $60 state filing fee (for the first 5 years) and the $43 renewal fee (every 5 years thereafter) for Arizona residents and non-residents are paid directly to the state at the time of application submission and are not included in the class fee. “When I came in with quite a bit of gun knowledge, I was skeptical about what I would actually get from the class, other than a certificate. The teacher was great! Made information less dry and simplified things that everyone could understand, and was passionate about safety, constitutional rights and people carrying firearms. Once you complete your online training course, we hope to see you in one of our hundreds of in-person training sessions as you continue your firearms training. Proper training and safety are our top priorities, which is why we only work with 100% certified firearms instructors to ensure your time is well spent and you become a smarter, more responsible CCW certified gun owner. The state application fee of $63.25 (non-resident), $53.25 (resident) for the first 5 years is the initial application fee, and $25.75 every 5 years after renewal. Utah permits can be requested by mail. These forms will be provided to you during the lesson and your teacher will help you fill them out. Registration fees are paid directly to the state at the time of application submission and are not included in the course fee.
